Community Projects

Some of the previous community and family projects run across the Museum Network.

Treasures for Toddlers

Created at The Holburne Museum

This project encouraged families from rural areas to take part in art based activities at their local play group using handling objects from the museum’s collection.

The Story Tree

Created at The Bowes Museum

Local families designed and created a ‘story tree’ based on items from the museum collection for The Story Garden.

Living History Detectives

Created at The Holburne Museum

Intergenerational projects connect local school groups with older people. Focusing on art, objects and reminiscence the participants created their own art and poetry inspired by the project.

Bollywood at Waddesdon

Created at Waddesdon Manor

Inspired by a Bollywood movie filmed on location at Waddesdon Manor, girls from the local Pakistani community were invited to a series of workshops culminating in an exhibition of their work.
